“On the road to ruin, there’s a lot to see…” There’s a dark thread meandering through this music. It weaves its way through tales of sin, regret and desperation. Of lonliness and resolve. Leaving an imperfect fabric — a refreshing polar opposite to perfectly posed Instagram lives. There’s a melancholy soul here that runs to the bone. The music of the Threadbarons is informed by the vast variety of life. Members hail from New York and Pennsylvania; the midwest and west Texas. They range in age from their freshly matured 30s to their deeply weathered 60s. You’ll hear the inspirations: Dylan in his electric years; Wilco in their prime. You may be reminded of The Band, as various members take the mic. But you might not hear a more authentic commentary on the very human road we all travel.
