Verner Calvin

Verner Calvin is Paul Burnsworth, Shannon Bailey, Hunter Hinkley, and Calvin Jordan.

Growing up the son of a glam rock guitarist father in Tampa, FL – Calvin moved to Taiwan shortly after graduation to study Chinese. An American singer-songwriter in Taiwan, he met his girlfriend, Anna, and the two started making music under the name Violet Lens.

After three releases with Violet Lens, Calvin started working on a solo project to express his vision in his own language. His first single was released in Summer 2020 with plans to release an EP later. The five song EP including title track Grey Oranges pull you in with melodic hooks and driving grooves with a warm catchy edge. Produced by Andrew Goldring in Nashville, TN, and mastered by Phil Bova (Feist, Land of Talk, Andy Shauf) the EP’s diverse and organic sounds highlight his soft spot for humble music and lyrics. Born to soothe his anxieties, the temporal lyrics and raw melodies pull from his past, travels, and musical influences from Andy Shauf to The Smashing Pumpkins. Calvin currently resides in Fort Collins, Colorado. .
