King Cardinal

Denver's King Cardinal, a musical force driven by the trio of Brennan Mackey on vocals/guitar, Ben Waligoske on pedal steel, and Jonah Wisneski on guitar, released their second full-length album, "Land Lines," in January.

In their latest musical endeavor, King Cardinal embarked on a quest to capture a spectrum of diverse sounds, each song possessing its own unique sound, instrumentation, and style. Embracing a hands-on, do-it-yourself ethos, the band took charge of the production process, crafting most of the songs in the intimate confines of their homebase studio, Clubhouse Recorders.

Fueling this creative journey, the Denver community rallied around King Cardinal, with contributions from notable artists including Anna Morsett (The Still Tide), Sarah Anderson (Heavy Diamond Ring, Paper Bird), Ben Wysocki (The Fray), Jess Parsons (Bluebook), and Chris Weist (Wood Belly). This collaborative effort resulted in a mosaic of songs spanning blue-eyed soul, Dad Rock, experimental synth, and folk. Despite this wide-ranging exploration, the songs seamlessly coalesce, forming a cohesive narrative that takes the listener on a captivating musical voyage.

"Land Lines" not only showcases the band's musical diversity but also signifies a significant step in their artistic evolution. With a release date set for January 26th, King Cardinal's latest album promises to be a compelling and immersive record, encapsulating the essence of their journey as musicians and storytellers.
