Started in a colorful, cozy Fort Collins basement in 2018 by singer/songwriter Luke Peters on guitar/vocals and Nikki Flint on drums, Smelling Melons is an indie surf rock trio with a fun and energetic live show. Smelling Melons added Goose Seifert (My Dog Ate Chad, Cosmic Hot Sauce) on bass in fall 2019 and released their first single "Fog", with their debut LP due out this Spring. Combining the sounds of 60's surf (The Beach Boys), 90's rock (The Breeders, Nirvana), and today's indie (La Luz, Palehound), Smelling Melons brings a dynamic show, sunny surf, and a touch of humor to audiences locally and nationally.
