Volunteers

If you're 18 or over, volunteer for one or more shifts (4+ hours) and attend a training session, the benefits to YOU are: a FREE wristband for FoCoMX ($50-$75 value) and a soft limited edition volunteer t-shirt.

But we truly believe the benefits go beyond that! You become part of the fabric of the Fort Collins Musicians Association community, a community dedicated to supporting our local musicians. We literally CAN NOT do this festival without you, and as we all know, local bands don't become national bands without strong grassroots support. Click here to Volunteer

If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that it’s important to be cautious and considerate when it comes to public health. If you are potentially contagious or are showing any COVID, RSV or flu symptoms prior to your FoCoMX shift, please either log in and cancel your shift through the website (if prior to Friday), or if it is weekend-of please email us at volunteer@focomx.org as early as possible to cancel so we can try to fill your vacancy.

Elevations Credit Union Community Room

221 East Mountain Ave.

Fort Collins, CO 80524

Volunteer Headquarters is located in the Elevations Community Room. Enter from Mountain Ave. As you are looking at the credit union main doors, the double doors you are looking for will be just to your right (west). Follow the signs up to the second floor. There is an elevator should you require the assistance.

Please arrive at Volunteer HQ at least 30 minutes IN ADVANCE of your shift start time. At this time, you will check in for your shift, possibly grab the venue tub for your shift, and get your wristband.

Also, if you are working Saturday but want to see bands on Friday, you will come to VHQ on Friday to get your wristband early. If this is the case, you must leave a $40 deposit which will be returned to you when you check in for your shift on Saturday.

Sign up online NOW

Once the schedule is up on March 14th, 2025, grab your shift early for the best options. Some shifts become yours right away, some require supervisor approval.... For approval-required shifts, we'll reach out to you to confirm.

For volunteers with a Saturday or post-festival shift who want to see music Friday, we require a $40 deposit on Friday when you pick your wristband up at Volunteer Headquarters. When you check in at your scheduled shift time on Saturday or post-festival, your cash deposit will be returned to you.

FoCoMA would like to thank Elevations Credit Union in Downtown Fort Collins for letting us use their spaces this year for our Volunteer and Festival Headquarters and Will Call/Ticket Box Office.

2025 Trainings - (one is required)

We are re-vamping our trainings to be more focused on what YOU are there for and you will receive a link to sign up for one in your confirmation email. (Please check the spam folder in case any of our communications land there).

Training and Volunteer HQ are at Elevations Credit Union, 221 E. Mountain Ave. just east of College Ave. Volunteers will use the separate double doors to the west of the lobby door to get upstairs to the Elevations Community Room. If you want to volunteer and you cannot make either date, we may have the capacity to figure out an alternate time with a handful of people, but please do your best to make one of the above dates! We will send out a form to gauge the attendance to the different trainings.

**Someone cannot check in for you and receive your credentials. If you do not physically attend a training, you will be considered untrained. We will be sending a form out, closer to trainings, to gauge attendance, and you can let us know, then, if you cannot make one of them so we can look into potential options.

Read your CONFIRMATION EMAIL carefully. There are two kinds of positions available on the website: No-approval-required, and approval-required.

If you sign up for a no-approval-required shift, IT'S YOURS and we'll be expecting to see you at one of our pre-festival training sessions in April.

If you sign up for an approval-required shift (On the schedule, the position description will say, "This position requires approval by our Volunteer Coordinator.") Give us up to 72 hours to catch our breath and we'll reach out to you (either call or email) with additional questions, or we will approve you! Either way, we will let you know when you are OFFICIAL. Thank you!!

(There are also a few positions that we schedule behind the scenes, reserved for sponsors, partners and board members, but those require direct communication between you and [email protected]).

Must be at least 18 years old, with a valid photo ID to volunteer and sign a waiver.

There are a variety of positions available from pre-festival help and post-festival help, as well as weekend-of options ranging from door/wristband checker, emcee, greeter, operations runner, pre-fest assistance, merch seller, floater and more!

Shifts typically run 4-5 hours long and you must volunteer for 4+ hours to receive a wristband ($50-75 value). You will need to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to shift so that you can check in, receive your credentials and get to the location. Please sign up for the appropriate shift time that your schedule allows, with the arrival time included.

In the rare event that there is a shift under 4 hours long, that will count towards the wristband and is typically the latest shift of the day. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to shift for check in AND plan to bring the tub back at the end of your shift.

Absolutely! The earlier you log into the system to sign up for a shift, the better your chances will be that you can volunteer together. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to volunteer together, especially as it gets closer to festival weekend, as all shifts are available first come, first serve.

Most locations only have one door/wristband checker and emcee per shift time and that is your best chance to volunteer together. You must be comfortable talking in front of people on a stage to be an emcee and adhere to important policies such as remaining sober and professional.

We strongly encourage each of you to sign up for your own volunteer profiles, prior to 3/14/25 and be ready to sign up separately. This does require two separate email addresses. Two people cannot cover one shift and will not receive more than one wristband for that shift.

In case you don’t sign up together, this is a great opportunity to meet new, music-loving, like-minded people!

Schedule

Build Your Schedule: With so many performances to see, we recommend planning well in advance. Have fun listening to bands on our website and building your own schedule.

Insider Tip: Make sure you log in. Give time for the page to load - it's pulling 400+ bands to create a custom view just for you!, be patient! Once you have it finalized you can share the link with friends or send it to yourself. You may want to consider taking a screenshot of it in case the venue you are in gets bogged down service-wise. AND log out after creating your schedule. You can still view it at the link you created, but the site will run much faster for you.

Getting Here

Downtown Fort Collins offers a variety of parking options, including on-street, parking structures, and surface lots. In general, the on-street parking in the core of downtown has 2-hour time limits before 6:00 PM, please see signage for details.  The parking structures offer the first hour free and if you are parking around the periphery of downtown there are many free all-day parking locations.

Artists

If you need to make a change to your FoCoMX submission or your Colorado Music Directory listing, login here and click update listing.

If you still need any help contact us.

Submissions are now closed for FoCoMX 2025.

Each band member get a "plus one" wristband for performing at the festival that you are free to give to whoever you like. Beyond that, your fans can volunteer, we are looking to fill close to 300 volunteer positions and this is a great chance to buy a ticket to help support you and the local music scene.

Please know that if your band was not selected this year you are still a very much valued member of our music community. We received many more applications than there are spots for artists.

We would love for you to come out and experience the festival. We will provide a code for discounted tickets for you to attend if you'd like to do so. You can also volunteer for a free wristband. Please email us at [email protected] if you'd like to connect further on either of these options.

We hope you will join us for our other year-round events including Music Industry Night, Music Trivia Nights, FoCoMA Peer Awards and our bi-annual dental and wellness clinics. We look forward to connecting with you down the line.

You can either wait to submit or you can add the information as you have it. After January 11, 2025 we can’t guarantee your changes will be considered by the booking committee.
