Lisa Sherrodd – Bass, Vocals, and Equestrian
Lisa Sherrodd’s journey as a bassist began at 17 when she picked up a Fender Jazz and played her first gig a month later. Choosing music over college, she moved to Hollywood to attend the Musician’s Institute, where she was one of only two female bassists in her class. Soon after, she joined the all-girl heavy metal band The Slut Puppies, performing at iconic venues like Gazzarri’s and Whisky a Go Go.
After the band disbanded, Lisa moved to Wyoming, where she pursued a degree while continuing to play bass. She declined an opportunity to join the Led Zeppelin tribute band Four Sticks when expecting twins but returned to performing as soon as they were in junior high. Today, Lisa remains an in-demand bassist in the Colorado and Wyoming music scene, playing with various groups and filling in for bands as needed.
Beyond music, Lisa has built a successful career as an oil painter, exhibiting at shows like the Greeley Stampede and Frontier Days Western Spirit Art Show. A passionate wild-mustang advocate, she spends her free time riding her rescue horse and enjoying life on her remote property between Colorado and Wyoming with her husband, dogs, horses, and chickens. Dana Paige – Drums and Martial Arts
Dana Paige began her artistic career as a touring dancer, performing internationally before returning to Los Angeles to study dance and commercial acting. Her love of movement and rhythm naturally led her to the drums, where she discovered a new form of artistic expression. After relocating to Colorado, she became a dedicated fan of Wendy Woo’s music—eventually joining Girl Crush as a drummer.
Dana’s rhythmic precision and dynamic energy have made her an integral part of the band, contributing to their vibrant live performances. She has toured extensively across Colorado and the Midwest, bringing her infectious groove to every show.
In addition to music, Dana holds a 5th-degree black belt in Taekwondo and is passionate about teaching. She instructs kids in dance, drumming, and martial arts, blending her artistic and athletic talents into a unique teaching approach. Dana currently resides in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Valerie Vampola – Keyboards and Vocals
A skilled vocalist, pianist, arranger, and composer, Valerie Vampola brings a rich musical background to Girl Crush. Raised in Santa Barbara, CA, she first fell in love with performance as a flamenco dancer, drawn to the energy of live musicians. Her passion for music led her to study with session musicians in Los Angeles before moving to Northern Colorado to pursue formal training.
Valerie earned her degree in jazz studies from the University of Northern Colorado, where she honed her craft. Since graduating, she has performed with notable Colorado artists, including Wendy Woo, Steve & the Cruisers, and The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra. She also maintains a solo career, playing in lounges across the Front Range and Rocky Mountains, including venues like the Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis.
During the week, Valerie shares her love of music by teaching private voice and piano lessons at The Loveland Academy of Music. In her free time, she enjoys running with her dog, Pepper, and unwinding with video games.
Gillian Mackenzie – Vocals, Ukulele
Known for her warm stage presence and love of sing-alongs, Gillian Mackenzie—affectionately called G Mack—brings a unique charm to Girl Crush. She first discovered her passion for music through high school musical productions, where she fell in love with live performance. After earning a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University, she worked as a veterinary technician, keeping music as a beloved hobby through karaoke nights and casual jam sessions.
A chance meeting with Wendy Woo reignited her musical aspirations, leading to her joining both The Wendy Woo Band and Girl Crush. Since then, she has flourished in the joy of musical collaboration, bringing her signature vocals and ukulele stylings to the stage. Whether leading a crowd in a group sing-along or adding harmony to the band’s dynamic arrangements, Gillian’s enthusiasm and heartfelt performances make her an indispensable part of Girl Crush.
With their powerhouse musicianship, deep-rooted passion, and diverse musical influences, Wendy Woo’s Girl Crush continues to make waves in the Colorado music scene. Their performances are more than just concerts—they’re celebrations of music, connection, and the joy of live performance.
