Pulchra

Funeral Doom in the truest sense, Pulchra is the sonic representation of grief. Mixing Noise, Sludge, and Psych Rock and clad in black shawls, this is an act that pushes the band format to its sonic limit, conjuring thick clouds of distortion and reverb through which percussion erupts like thunder and screams echo like wails of the long forgotten.

Originally formed in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic saw Pulchra's subject matter crystalize around existential questions of mortality and self-worth. Reflected in the lurching, pummeling grooves of the rhythm section and their melodramatic visual presentation, these themes have won the band broad appeal despite its extremity. With a full album on the way and continued refinement of their live show's controlled savagery, 2026 promises to be a watershed year for a band on an eternal mission to expand the boundaries of heavy music.
