Tofu Boy

In 2011, Tofu Boy branched out from his home county in the North of England to take a look around and see what else the world had to offer. By 2012, he was living in London, making electronic music, DJing as part of the London club scene, and biking regularly. In 2014 his strong legs propelled his bike from London to Paris where, over breakfast at a hostel, he fell for an American who became his wife. They lived together in London & Brighton, and then moved to Philadelphia, USA, where Tofu Boy took songwriting lessons and started to record his adventures and philosophies in a folk music form. In 2018, they moved to Fort Collins. Here, he continues to refine his songwriting craft as the leader the Fort Collins Songwriters' Workshop (founded August 2021), a popular group which meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the Purple Cup Cafe.

Inspired by Billy Bragg, Jack White and telling the truth, Tofu Boy has a folksy punk rock sound, with catchy riffs and meaningful lyrics.

His songs have received positive critical reviews and in 2022 he committed to developing his live sound and performance, experimenting with various hardware and performance techniques for gigs at The Forge Publick House and Blast & Scrap's Co-Opted Farm Fest in Fort Collins.

He is a maker and uses a homemade drum built from a speech synthesiser to add rhythm to his live set. Look out for him playing it with his socks!

Tofu Boy is excited for the chance to play FoCoMX in 2023!
