Claire Heywood

Claire Heywood is a Denver singer-songwriter whose smoky, emotive voice and thoughtful lyrics captivate audiences in vulnerable solo shows. Her debut EP, The Wind It Howls, is a full-band reimagining of six original songs. Claire's band invokes Soulful Indie-Pop & Blues to back her soaring, heartfelt vocal stylings. In late 2017, she met producer and studio/label owner Joshua Olsen at a Denver open mic. They teamed up to make her debut record at Third & James Studios, produced by Olsen and backed by a full band. Prior to exploring the craft of songwriting, Claire earned her BA in English Writing from Colorado State and worked at Fort Collins literary hub Wolverine Farm. Her EP is a collection of frank, lyric-driven songs which beckon the listener into vignettes of sensitivity, suffering, and reckoning. The Wind It Howls will be released with a full-band show at Syntax Physic Opera and on all streaming platforms March 7.
