YAN YEZ

Producing self-described Indie Post-Pop, YAN YEZ is assuredly their “own thing”. Nico Yan Yez works alongside his bandmates to create a melting pot of familiar sounds – there’s electronic, punk, hip-hop, rock, and pop influences scattered about.

The common thread though? Authenticity.

In a phrase, YAN YEZ is high-octane vulnerability. Live performances are loud, jumpy, sweaty, and utterly entertaining – but by no means frivolous. Whether it be a social commentary or the processing of childhood trauma, Nico is plainly pouring out the heart he wears on his sleeve. Spectators of the band can expect a form of Indie-Rock performance-therapy when taking in a show. Nico Yan Yez is also an actor, writer, and producer; appearing in films like Babylon (2022), The Christmas Pitch, and Ideal Husband (which just screened at the Vail Film Festival).

He is an advocate for and member of the LGBTQ+ community and has been featured on numerous podcasts (including NPR’s The Pulse) where he discusses matters of sexuality, religion, and politics.
