DJ Swingsett is an active, full-time DJ based in NY (mostly Brooklyn) from 1992-2007. He released his first song in 1995 on Ubiquity Records, and has collaborated with many other labels including Om Records, Sirkus UK, Dope on Plastic! UK, EastWest Germany. DJ Swingsett has also co-produced official remixes for Whodini (w J. Warrin, for Jive Electro), Twilight Circus Dub Sound System (w/ Takuya Nakamura for M Records), The Streets UK (w/ Takuya & Lisa Shaw for Vice/Atlantic), and Billie Holiday (w/ Takuya for Legacy/Columbia/SONY), among many others. He also co-founded and ran three of his own labels with John Warrin and former wife, Lisa Shaw: Ism Records (Broken Beat & Downtempo), Esho Recordings (Deep SoulfulJazzy House), and Ism'assive Records (Jungle/Drum&Bass). From 1993~2007, DJ'd extensively for Giant Step and Konkrete Jungle events in NYC as a resident or supporting DJ, and also held residencies and one-off events at most major & minor Manhattan and Brooklyn clubs, such as Nell's, Bar 6, Wetland's, S.O.B.'s, Save The Robots, The Supper Club, The Limelight (The Chapel + H.R. Giger Room), TWILO, The Sound Factory (side room/basement), Drinkland, Nublu, CENTRO-FLY, The Knitting Factory, FUN!, 205 Chrystie, The Bank, Shine on Canal/TriBeCa, and many more. DJ Swingsett was also the first American DJ to play as a special guest @ Gilles Peterson, Ben Wilcox & Straight No Chaser Magazine's "That's How It Is" monthly in London (1998 and 2000!), and multiple bookings stretching over 15 years throughout US, CAN, UK, Europe, South Korea, Japan & Thailand. He also was opening/closing DJ & booked with artists ranging from Gil Scott-Heron, GURU's Jazzmatazz 'Live', DJ Spinna, Mr. Scruff, Jimmy Smith, DJ Smash, Turntables On The Hudson (multiple- w/ Nickodemus & Nappy G), Reuben Wilson, Incognito- to DJ Krush, Skylab, Miguel Migs, Joshua Iz & Diz, Gene Farris, Twilight Circus Dub Soundsystem, Roni Size Reprazent 'Live', LTJ Bukem (twice), Shy Fx, Soul Slinger, DB, Charlie Dark/Attica Blues, Orin 'Afronaut' Walters, Daz-I-Kue, Domu, Ray Barretto, Coldcut (Ninja Tune), DJ Food, Mark Farina
