Kites In Lightning

Kites in Lightning is an indie rock band from Northern Colorado. The band is fronted by Eric Lungstrum (guitar, vocals) and Ben Haugestuen (guitar, vocals, keys).  Bassist, Karl Ayers, and drummer, Eric Zylstra, provide the rhythmic backbone that keep the songs moving and keep listeners' toes tapping.  All members contribute to the songwriting, giving the band a unique sound and a variety of styles revolving around the indie/alternative rock genre.  With influences like Radiohead, the Flaming Lips, Sufjan Stevens, Death Cab for Cutie, Elliott Smith, the National, Arcade Fire, the Decemberists, and so many others,  Kites In Lightning has crafted a sound that can be described as “classic indie with a modern twist”.  This sound will be showcased on KIL’s first full length album, “Downdraft”, which will be released in early 2026.
