Pomegranate Sounds

Pomegranate Sounds is a multi-national (France/USA) record label, DJ crew, and a Colorado-based traditional hand-built wooden sound system. The latter is owned and operated by crew member The Groove Thief, who is a DJ, music journalist, and KGNU Community Radio host (Reggae Bloodlines, Reggae Transfusion, Dub Palace, etc.).

Pomegranate Sounds is known for its dub-centric vision of dance music and has booked and supported a wide range of artists including Alpha Steppa, Bukkha, Kampira, and Yaadcore. Highlights from 2023 include the Riots 12" record release party at Black Shirt Brewing; gigs at Avery Brewing, Bear Creek Distillery, and Eldora Mountain; festival bookings at Prairie Pothole (North Dakota), Nestival (Saint-Laurent-de-Neste, France), and Wildflower (Colorado); and sound system sessions featuring Iyasu, Ourman (France), Red Peak Sound, Subjet, and many others.
