The Six Demon Bag.

The Six Demon Bag started in 2009 with members Justin “Houston” Schram – Bass/Lead Vocals (1978-2016), Patricio “DeeBusterChops” Fernandez- Drums/Vocals, Zachariah Alan Salvo- Guitars, and Phil Rust- Keyboards/Vocals. After 3 years of shows in places like The Vault, Island Grill, and The Swing Station, it pauses like all Bands do.. Families, jobs, moves, etc.. Like all bands do, you believe it’ll happen again soon. This one didn’t. Like some bands, you feel like you had tapped in a magic of some kind. We did tap into something, and a good thing can’t be held down forever, or so we thought.      

When Justin passed away in 2016, the music seemed to die with him. In a combination of healing and realization we started with no intentions to reform let alone perform under our moniker ever again. Since 2009, we meticulously recorded.. everything. Rehearsals, shows, and everything in between was captured for better or worse. We had opened a door to the past that would become our future.. of sorts.

In 2024, Alan was able to locate and extract music we had not heard since it was recorded from old hard drives and MP3 files that were untouched for over 15 years in some cases.

We found a goldmine, and we caught the fever. It wasn’t about whether we wanted to play these songs again, we had to. 

The songs were not a piece of nostalgia, though our sentiments and mourned memories came back in ways we had not known would change us, even now. We heard something in ourselves that we thought was gone forever, meant to just exist in the time where it originated.

We sought to not to just tribute Houston, or essentially “cover” ours elves, it was deeper. It was a reminder of the form that eventually went into everything we did musically thereafter, that the Magic was never gone. 

Cliché? Perhaps, but it’s true. 

To quote James Earl Jones’ Terrence Mann character in the film, “Field of Dreams”:

“It’s a part of our past. It reminds us, of all that once was good and could be again.”

So here we are, just the three of us.. slightly different, yet the same.
