Hot off their Red Rocks debut, indie rock duo Blankslate just released their sophomore album “Lookout Mountain Charley” on August 8 to critical and commercial acclaim. Composed of best friends Rylee Dunn (bass/guitar/vocals) and Tess Condron (drums/keys) the duo was founded in a college storage closet in 2020 and plays an energetic, lyrically-focused strain of rock that oscillates between grunge and folk — sometimes within the same track. The driving principle behind Blankslate is transformation: a belief in the possibility to become. The band is made up of two queer women and is completely independent.
