Groove Holiday

This six-piece band is composed of a super-group of musicians with decades of experience touring, session gigs, and countless shows at venues including the House of Blues New Orleans, The Knitting Factory, Tipitina’s, B.B. King’s Blues Club, Mississippi Studios, Dazzle, Fox Theater, Boulder Theater, Cafe Sole, St. Julien Hotel, and even Red Rocks.

Saxophonist Greg Warren and guitarist Chris Anton met more than twenty years ago while playing in different nationally-touring bands based out of Boulder, Colorado. In 2019, they reunited with a common vision of starting a horn driven instrumental groove jazz fusion ensemble with a powerfully tight rhythm section. This concept was fully realized when Greg met trumpet player Ryan Cavis, who knew bassist Todd Vanselus and drummer Tobin Munsat. Groove Holiday had their first rehearsal in 2020, and after playing one tune it was obvious this was going to be something special, and the band was born. Trombone player Jim Griffis joined the group shortly after the band formed.
