GOATZ!

GOATZ!, founded originally as Chris K & Friends in Fort Collins in 2000, is an Americana country-folk-blues-jazz inspired project lead by 105.5 The Colorado Sound 2023 "Lifetime Achievement Award" winning Colorado veteran radio personality and musician Chris K (aka goat).

Chris K is a third-generation musician whose roots run from Tin Pan Alley to modern Americana. A veteran of radio and touring bands, he’s played everything from English pubs to Northern Colorado’s biggest stages in direct support of Americana and country legends like Blackhawk, Guy Clark, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Jim Lauderdale. 

A move to Grand Junction in May 2024 reinvigorated Chris' desire to get back on stage after a four year COVID era induced hiatus.  The NEW lineup of GOATZ! includes players from NoCO and Grand Junction: 

• Alex Nikiforoff (lead guitar) - Based in Greeley, Alex's resume includes over twenty years playing with military bands around the world as a bassist and guitarist to go with a world-class music education from UNC. He debuted with Chris K as a duo at FOCOMX 2025.  He joins the full band for this year's party.
• Don Pokorny (drums, vocals) - a 30 PLUS year veteran of the Chicago music scene as a musician and industry professional. He and his family moved to Grand Junction in May 2025.  He made his debut with GOATZ! in June.   
• Jon "JD" Davis (bass) - another Western Slope newcomer in 2024, Jon earned his cred playing in roots-rock and Americana bands in the South Texas Hill Country region.  Jon played his first show with GOATZ! in August 2025.
