Started as solo lofi project in 2019 by Guitarist/Vocalist Cesar Ibarra, pill joy was originally meant to be nothing more than an audible diary of sorts. After enough pressure to perform live, a band was formed to bring the pill joy sound to the stage. A few years and line up changes later, the project released their first album. Now joined by Bassist Ash Nova(of Dead Boyfriend) and Drummer Rocco Dunn(of Flower Head), pill joy’s ‘Wait don’t tell me -we were ghosts the whole time…” is a collection of Halloween themed, shoegaze -tinged garage pop songs invoking childhood nostalgia for every thing spooky and autumnal.
