Danny Laredo Band

Danny is a Colorado native, born and raised in the Denver area. He started playing piano at 9 years old; He took classical piano lessons for a couple years, but soon realized his interests were in the blues and 1950s/60s rock and roll. Danny taught himself how to play the blues and boogie Woogie. Jerry Lee Lewis, Dr. John, and Carl Sonny Leyland were his biggest influences. Danny then began playing jazz in high school, and soon started gigging professionally at jazz clubs in Denver. After a few years of playing jazz clubs and cocktail lounges, Danny found himself in a rut; he wasn’t playing at the level he wanted…. And then Billy Joel came along. A lightbulb went off, oh the glorious ‘a-ha’ moment. Wonderful inspiration. Danny soon started playing Billy Joel tunes, and was inspired to write his own music (in that style - 1970s soft rock). Danny wrote songs about his life experiences, and he genuinely hopes to connect with everyone who listens.
