Val Chillmer

It all started when a cover of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean transformed into a 15-minute fusion jam at a birthday.

The five members met while they were either teaching at the same studio or in other bands. They each discovered they all graduated from the same music program (but at different times) and shared a love for jazz. Conversations about Brian Blade and Chick Corea over pizza turned into weekly jamming and hanging out, which turned into booking their first gig.

Now Val Chillmer brings a bunch of fun soul classics and funky covers to the front range, from the local bar down the street to upscale private events in the mountains, sprinkling in those face-melting sax and guitar solos that garnered fans from the first show.
