Hot Day Sugar Mouth

Hot Day Sugar Mouth is relatively new to the FoCo music scene, having formed in 2022 through many jam sessions in Anna Philippe’s (vocals, guitar, lyricist) living room. What started out as casual music-making with friends eventually transformed into intimate songwriting collaborations with Sam Miller (drums) and Yu-Hsin Chang (keys). Backyard shows for friends and family progressed to local shows across Fort Collins, including The Aggie, The Coast, and The Neighbor. With the addition of Carson Hume (guitar/vocals) and Sam Kloeckner (bass), they’ve been delving into their creativity while staying true to their mantra: “Music for the love of making music.” The band doesn’t seem to fit a specific genre, light-heartedly calling themselves “living room indie romance pop rock”. The music of HDSM exists solely in voice memos and live performances for now, but they plan to get in the studio someday to preserve these precious moments of inspiration for all to hear.
