Dr JOE

Artist:  Dr JOE  (Evergreen, CO)

Bio:

Raised on a farm outside Salina, Kansas, bandleader Joe Sparacino spent his early childhood learning piano from a southern gospel choir matron and listening to his family’s old vinyl collection of Ray Charles, Leon Russell, and James Booker.

Joe moved to Austin, TX after school and built a band around his energetic, psyche inflected soulful positivity enlisting fellow Austin musicians: Pierson Saxon, Brennan Howell, and Patrick Young. Dr JOE have become renowned around the USA for delivering a potent and invigorating revival, always traveling with their very own ‘Ships’ piano – a battle-hardened, stripped bare 1922 gem of an instrument with 5 Octaves and 68 Notes (as opposed to grand piano’s 88 notes and 7 Octaves - with a minor third).

Dr JOE’s debut single released in Jan of 2019: “Tell Your Mother” was produced by Vance Powell (six-time Grammy Award-winning record producer) whose credits include Jack White, The Raconteurs, White Stripes, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Chris Stapleton, etc. and recorded at his famed Sputnik Studio in East Nashville. It has already been streamed over 2 million times across Spotify and Apple.

Their second single GOOD DAYS, released in October 2019, was recorded at Niles City Studios in Fort Worth with Austin Jenkins (Leon Bridges, White Denim) as a producer, additional work by Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas) and Abhi The Nomad and mixed and mastered at Abbey Road in London.

Having recently moved from Austin to Evergreen, CO to be closer to nature, Joe released their debut full length album in Jan of 2025.  “Songs of Joy, Unity, and Revolution” was produced by Abhi the Nomad, and is a call for unity in divisive times, for joy in the face of struggle, and for a revolution by the creatives and innovators, whom must make their voices heard in order to create the world we all want and need to thrive.
