MarYsaL
JoJo’s life has been a journey defined by movement and discovery. Having relocated every two years of his upbringing, he developed a deep connection to diverse cultures, expanding not only his palate for food but also his appreciation for sound. After years of being an avid spectator, listener, and admirer of music across genres, JoJo decided to carve his own path—not through mainstream conventions, but within the bold, boundary-pushing realm of experimental glitch hop and bass music.
With his project MarYsaL—a name inspired not only by the Spanish words "mar" (sea) and "sal" (salt) but also by his parents’ last names, Martis and Salazar—JoJo creates a sonic world that blends organic acoustic textures with the powerful energy of sound system culture. His passion lies in crafting a distinctive sound that challenges the familiar while staying rooted in authenticity, transforming unconventional noise into captivating art.
