Circling Girl
Drawing inspiration from classic dream-pop icons such as Cocteau Twins and The Sundays, and modern indie favorites Beach House and Alvvays, Circling Girl crafts glimmering harmonies and spaced-out guitars that walk the line between familiar and fresh. Their latest album Only My Veins Know, unfolds as a lush dreamscape and a medium for self-exploration. It’s a storyteller’s record, painting portraits of lives marked by guilt, shame, and blaming ourselves for what goes wrong.
Compared to their EP Teeth, Circling Girl pushes further sonically in Only My Veins Know; embracing heavier riffs, expanded synth textures, and a refreshed songwriting approach. Among the album's highlights is “Porch,” featuring Tom Hagerman of Devotchka helping to weave the melancholy lyrics and oscillating guitars into something quietly spellbound.
