Charioteer

Charioteer is a spirited three-piece from Colorado Springs, CO that seamlessly ties indie rock sensibilities with folk-inspired storytelling and won't hesitate to indulge experimental urges. Beginning as a solo project where songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Alex Koshak could flex his distinct flavor of quirky, yet catchy songwriting, the band has evolved through several iterations into the electric trio it is today, enlisting the talents of bassist Chas Douthit and drummer Reggie Thompson.

The band shines in its live presentation, playing shows all over Colorado, ranging from Trinidad to Denver and everywhere in between. From the first note, Charioteer grips the audience with overdriven guitars and angular rhythms in songs like "Crowhurst" and "Magpies", but over the course of the set, will gently guide showgoers through emotional hills and valleys with introspective slow-burns like "Rose-Tinted Glass", often closing the set with an eruption of raucus riffs and odd time signatures in tunes like "5" and "Seventh Sons".

Having honed their craft within the Colorado music scene, Charioteer are seasoned veterans with two independent releases under their belts: 2013's self-titled record as well as 2018's "August", whose title track stretches the band's dynamic range to heart-wrenching ends. Today, Charioteer is hard at work on album number three, currently in its mixing phase.
