After over a decade of collaborating on original music projects as a professional trombonist and arranger, bandleader Jon Gauer started this band as a vehicle for his own music.  Members of The Cat's Glasses are also active elsewhere in the Colorado music scene, performing with groups such as Tansy Wine, Dr. Lunch, Vanimal Kingdom, Corgi Cartel, Grey Rails, Messenger Music Collective, Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, Ben Markley Big Band, and many more.
