Carl Christensen

First and foremost, Carl Christensen is a storyteller. Drawing influence from Springsteen, Lucy Dacus, Big Thief, and Conor Oberst, Christensen’s songwriting is introspective, focused, vivid, and often heart wrenching. Christensen established himself in Seattle from 2021-25 fronting The Lake Flora Band and releasing two records with the project. Both Lake Flora Band records (Actor, Singer, Liar, Stripper, 2023, and Lake Flora, 2025)  have a strong Country/Western influence and received airplay on Seattle radio stations, such as KEXP, KBCS and SPACE 101.1.

After disbanding the Lake Flora Band in 2025, Christensen has embarked on a new chapter of his career. With new bandmates and new musical inspiration, Christensen has refined his sound and his songwriting. This new project leans less on Christensen’s Country/Western background, and returns to his first love, Indie-rock. Social commentary permeates through the worlds that Christensen builds, though he often focuses on interpersonal affairs rather than the overtly political.

Although this era of Christensen’s career will be defined by transformation and change he has maintained the same wit, charm, and authenticity that drew fans to his music initially. Regardless of who he shares the stage with, Christensen is a powerful, engaging and charismatic performer who never fails to win over the audience.
