Mr Atomic

Mr. Atomic formed in 2015 in Boulder, CO, after songwriter Boneth Ahaneku brought together guitarist Matt Stewart and bassist Mitch Rushton to perform the songs she had been writing since her early teens. In 2018, the band added Ryan Fraser on drums and headed to the studio to record Spectator Sport, the band’s grunge-influenced first album. The band played several shows in the midwest and southwest in support of Spectator Sport, culminating in a homecoming performance at Denver’s Underground Music Showcase. In 2022, Mr. Atomic released their second album Toxic Productivity, a more sophisticated indie rock album. Toxic Productivity explores the duality of anxiety and hope, blending the personal with shared, universal experiences. Toxic Productivity maintains the band’s 80s/90s rock and grunge influences, layered with contemporary pop elements and lyrically-dense verses. In 2024, Mr Atomic played their biggest show yet, opening for Slothrust at the Bluebird Theater.
