The Bracers

The Bracers (traditional ska, early reggae, new rocksteady, 2tone)

The Bracers are the ultimate throwback to the golden era of ska! Based out of Central California, they channel the spirit of '69 with their blend of traditional ska, early reggae, new rocksteady, and 2tone music. Since their inception in May 2021, they’ve been on a mission to revive the timeless sounds of the past while infusing their own modern twist. They have shared the stage with legends like The Toasters, The Slackers, Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra, Roddy Radiation (From the Specials), Mr. Kingpin, and Deals Gone Slack (The Slackers & Deals Gone Bad). They've also rocked alongside rising stars such as The Littlest Man Band, Stop the Presses, Brunt of It, Sacto Storytellers, and Simple Minded Symphony. Their first official release ‘Borstal Breakout’ by Sham 69 on 10/13/23 via the Punk Pioneers compilation released in the UK by the Specialized Project featuring over 50 bands from around the world. Then consecutively the next year releasing ‘Ain’t Nobody’ by Chaka Khan in a new rocksteady styling.

July 2025 saw the release of their all original THREE MILLION MILES EP on Escape Hatch Records on vinyl record and cassette tape released by This is Ska Records. Their third contribution to the Specialized Project's compilation, 'Heart of Glass', features Jules Lobo once again on lead vocals. They recently went into the Modesto Junior College Recording Studio to lay down the main tracks for their new single for the This is Ska Records compilation. Tune in as the Bracers take you on a journey through the roots of ska and beyond!  #TheBracers #SkaRevival
