Nimrod's Son

Nimrod’s Son hails from Boulder with fast-paced, fuzz-forward takes on Pixies classics and cuts from ’80s and ’90s indie trailblazers like Built to Spill, Talking Heads, and Echo & the Bunnymen.  By day, the band’s members are Ph.D. physicists trying to wrangle photons, neutrinos, Rydberg atoms, and other unruly particles. By night (and weekend), they trade equations, lasers, and vacuum pumps for tube amps, home-built guitar pedals, and the cathartic joy of loud guitars.  Originally forged in Colonial Williamsburg, VA, in 2010 after a late-night jam spiraled into Heart’s “Crazy On You,” Nimrod’s Son later reconvened in the Centennial State, reborn in 2021 with renewed volume and celerity.

Nate Phillips (vocals, guitar), Stephen Coleman (guitar), Kelly Kluttz (bass), and Matt Simons (drums).
