mud & marrow
We are mud & marrow, an eco-feminist world-folk band out of Denver who fuse joy and rage into a call to creative action. Our music is influenced by a decade-long study of West African percussion, and includes violin, keys, bass, guitar, ukulele, flute, and three-part vocal harmonies. Audiences are transfixed by our energy and unique instrumentation. Compared to Rising Appalachia, The Wailin’ Jennys, and Ani Difranco mud & marrow offers up genre-defying, all original songwriting that gets the audience both dancing and reflecting.
Performing across the Denver Metro and front range, mud & marrow has played the Denver Botanic Gardens, Georgetown Mountain Jams, Roxy on Broadway, Manos Sagrados, International Women's Day Festival in downtown Denver, Earth Day Festival in Boulder, and many more, including a monthly residency at the African Grill & Bar.
mud & marrow believes that creativity is a human need and a revolutionary act. May we all follow our imaginative impulses, tap into the creative process, and make music with a more egalitarian, community-based, inclusive approach.
