Lowfive

Lowfive is a five-piece band specializing in authentic songwriting, vocal harmonies, masterful guitar, and intentional musicality. Their debut self-titled EP, released April 28 2023, showcases the diverse musicianship of the band and the evolution of their folk songwriting into stage-shaking rock and roll. Lowfive’s multi-part vocals, hot guitar licks, and personal lyrics about love, loss, and living in beautiful CO are evident in both their recordings and live shows.

The Lowfive EP’s lead single “Be Here” reflects on making amends to a strained relationship with a sibling. The rich vocal blend of Chip and Claire evokes emotions of familial longing: “it’s the hardest times that I need you most / it’s the blood that gets you through.” The song’s solid groove transitions to straightforward rock and roll with “Rained Out” and melodic folk with “All Good Things”, showcasing a tour-de-force of the band’s collective musicianship. Lowfive’s debut EP presents the listener a glimpse of longtime friends doing what they do best on stage – having fun sharing their music with others.

Colorado natives Chip Bollendonk (vocals, guitar) and Burke Larson (drums, percussion) are joined by Claire Benjamin (keys, vocals / Nashville), Benjamin Mow (guitar, trumpet / Seattle) and Ben Gaubert (bass / Paris), melding far-flung influences that shape Lowfive’s collaborative approach to songwriting. The Lowfive EP was recorded, engineered, and mixed at The Keep in Denver, CO and the band can be found performing at venues across the Colorado Front Range.
