Commander Yo and The Plutos
Commander Yo and the Plutos are a Trio. This will be the first real effort to put the Commander Yo project on stage. Commander Yo is the solo project of John Pilon who has been in the FoCo scene since 1986. Commander Yo has played in many different bands over the years; starting as a bass player in the Denver punk scene in the mid-80's in band called Western Decadence, Commander Yo then transitioned to many additional projects in FoCo including big band jazz (Wise Acres, Ars Nova), Avant Garde punk (Lip Smacking Kitty Lunch), indie-rock (Slow Children Playing), prog-metal (Karma Logic), and currently is in Weekend Weather as the lead guitarist and is a member of a FoCo-based Soul/R&B/Disco band called Groove Avenue.
Commander Yo has three releases on Spotify/Youtube (Eclectica, Irrevocable Trust, Old Addicts) encompassing his love of composing music in many different genres. Yo will be releasing his fourth album in early 2027.
For FoCoMX Commander Yo and the Plutos will consist of Drummer Dr. Eric Olsen who has played in Fort Collins in many different projects including most recently Altered Ego. Joining Dr. Olsen on bass will be Scott Sampl who plays with Yo in Weekend Weather.
The Plutos are thrilled to have two featured vocalists/players! First Dr. Michi Rose Spady will join as the featured vocalist. In addition to an accomplished medical career, Dr. Spady is a trained vocalist and her music can be heard here->https://www.youtube.com/@michirose21
Rounding out the Plutos feature line up is Marcella. Marcella is professional violinist for over 30 years and is a tenured member of the Fort Collins Symphony and plays with both the Cheyenne and Greely Symphonies.
