Pity Laugh
Pity Laugh is a Denver-based blend of shoegaze, grungegaze, post-punk, and post-hardcore—loud, hazy, and emotionally wired. The band began as a side project for Devon Hildebrandt and Taylor Drose of indie rock outfit Silver & Gold, a place to chase the heavier sounds that first pulled them into music as kids. The project took shape quickly with the addition of Katherine Vaughan of Anterrior and Evan Zeller of Overslept, rounding out a lineup that hits with weight and atmosphere in equal measure.
Built on blown-out guitars, catchy melodies, and rhythms that swing between restraint and collapse, Pity Laugh makes music for people who find comfort in the noise. Their songs lean into distortion, vulnerability, and the catharsis that lives somewhere between the two.
