The Kinky Romantics are proto-punk band from Fort Collins, Colorado. The band blends blown-out guitars, bruised melodies, and sly humor into songs that feel like raw diary entries. Somewhere between the beautiful mess of The Velvet Underground, the cracked sincerity of Daniel Johnston, and the sweet-and-sour bite of The Vaselines, The Kinky Romantics turn awkward longing, bad decisions, and family trauma into something strangely transcendent. Raw, catchy, and gloriously unpolished. This is ragged proto-punk that reads like dog-eared journal entries set to blown-out guitars.
