Gun Street Ghost

The first thing you’ll notice about Gun Street Ghost is that lead singer Mike Perfetti’s deep voice spears you right through the soul. The second thing you’ll notice is that each song’s lyrics tell a bare, truthful tale of Americana. Storytelling, where the focus is less on the speaker than the subject, is a rare bird among a generation of inward-looking songwriters. Gun Street Ghost serves up sometimes haunting, melodic, and steel guitar-heavy tracks in their eponymous 2014 album. Fans of Johnny Cash with a craving for twang will enjoy this band. – Erika Gill
