Lonely Whale

Lonely Whale seeks to speak to something unsung in everyone through radically vulnerable songwriting and raw, emotive performance. Hauntingly honest songs meditate on the beauty and brevity of life, touching on a number of themes: living in relationship with nature, facing challenges with courage, overcoming trauma, learning to let go, and love. Lonely Whale's debut studio album, In the Cave, a full band project featuring drums, bass, pedal steel guitar, handpan drum, organ, and a variety of other instruments, was released November 15, 2019 and is available to stream just about everywhere. Lonely Whale is currently a two piece band featuring singer songwriter Carson O'Keeffe Satterfield on guitar and vocals, with Robert Rowe accompanying on cello, violin and ukulele. Together the duo creates melodies both lulling and haunting. Rob's humming cello weaves through Carson's delicate fingerpicking, giving a steady balance to the otherwise achingly fragile songs. Since Carson's move to Colorado in late 2018, they have played a number of shows locally; laughing goat, stills cellars, and the lion's lair.
