The Kinky Fingers

The Kinky Fingers are a ‘santa fe surf’ quartet based in Denver, Colorado. Influenced by the age of the internet, late 50’s melodic surf and 60’s era soul. They're Tarantinoesque sound infuses numerous American genres which often intermingle with various latin and eastern musical characteristics. For a young band, the Kinky Fingers feel curiously complete. Their first few years as a band were spent recklessly touring through Mexican boarder towns, unmentionable surf havens, the southern barbecued "Bible Belt", and a wet hot summer in New York, where they recorded their mini album ('Garbage Plate'). The album is a lot like the famous “garbage plate” of Rochester (a plate of fried potatoes, baked beans, hot dogs, onions, mustard, and a chili-like meat sauce): A mash of ingredients, the music rings through so many genres, textures and tastes it feels a perfect fit for what feels like a deteriorating American dream, which once tasted so sweet and now feels more like a bellyache.
