Artist Spotlight - Moodlighting

Straight from the FoCoMA Artist Directory, it’s time for a new weekly segment- Artist Profiles!

Moodlighting was never intended to be more than a recording project. It started during the beginning of the pandemic when Denver couple Sophie and Alex started writing songs together to stave off isolated boredom with little consideration given to how they would perform them live. So once shows started happening again, they decided they might as well give it a shot, but needed more members to be able to play the songs live. Recruiting members from craigslist and facebook resulted in a five piece band. However these days Moodlighting is back to just the original duo that combines elements of post-punk, shoegaze, and twee pop.
Moodlighting has a new set of singles out, Minimal and Chimunk that are featured on our Spotify playlist CLASS OF 2024 (it’s got tons of Northern Colorado songs that came out this year! Link in bio). AND we can look forward to their new album called “Gutter Rabbit” coming out February 7.
