5 Summer Festival Tips (from the pros)
After reading a dozen festival guides every year, you know, in addition to making a festival happen every year.. these are some tips we think are most important to remember when gearing up for festival season!
- Drink water - bring drinking water - drink it often and enjoy the benefits. Too many times we’ve seen good people bow-out early, or heaven forbid - push themselves to the brink of dehydration or in extreme cases pass out. Many of us know what it feels like to be running on empty and know the solution is easy - drink water all day and all night especially if at outdoor festivals and venues. Read the festival's FAQs to know what kind of beverage containers are allowed in the grounds.
- READ THE FAQs! - This can easily save everyone soo much hassle and stress to just read the frequently asked questions on the festival’s website. No matter how many times you’ve been to this fest, or this festival grounds, or anything similar, dont make any assumptions and actually read the FAQs for goodness sakes.
- Make the best of it all - it’s easy at at a big venue or festival to find ourselves lamenting the cost of beverages or food once inside the venue.. Something to remember - festival production is a business and there are a lot of moving parts involved to be able to offer you the location, security, entertainment.. So this is all to say, plan that you’ll likely spend more than the cost of the event ticket, so try to revel in the moment of conveniences and luxuries rather than spoil the event’s magic for yourself or the people around you.
- Comfortable clothes and shoes, short of bringing a towel, your attire will help defend you against the elements you may face while enjoying your informed and hydrated day of music and luxuries.
- Hearing protection! This is also tip number 6, 7, and 8 because it’s sooo important to protect your ears to sustain many years of enjoying music. There are reasonably priced nice ear plugs that reduce decibels evenly across the frequencies spectrum, which provides a better listening experience while practicing safe listening - They’re easy to buy online before you even hit the festival grounds :)
