Polka Folka is a Denver based band that plays an eclectic mix of traditional European polkas and waltzes, pop tunes in a polka style, and regional Mexican and U.S. polka styles. Their self-titled, debut album was released in September, 2019. They are renonwed for their live performances and the energetic party atmosphere that they create.

Lola Rising

Lola Rising is an Island Reggae Rock band also known as "Jahawaiian" that is ukulele driven with high energy melodic dance rhythms and soaring guitars. The six piece hailing from Colorado has quickly risen with dates alongside The Wailers, Matisyahu, The Green, The Wailing Souls, The Movement, Trevor Hall and Rusted Root. They play regionally at venues such as The Bluebird Theater, Washingtons, The Gothic Theater, The Aggie and The Fox Theater.

Jasper Grooves Collective

How does a “jasper groove” sound, you might ask? Hybrid. Diverse. Roots oriented. All of these words come to mind. It’s a sound served up piping hot from a cosmopolitan melting pot of simmering sonic ingredients. It’s an ageless tree whose branches have its roots in soul, blues and jazz but have since expanded, incorporating diverse influences: African rhythms, poetic excursions, syncopated Caribbean seasonings, and forays into hip-hop urban landscapes. That’s all well and good, you might say, but how about breaking it down into one word? “That would be tricky.” Why?

Gora Gora Orkestar

Gora Gora Orkestar is a 9 piece brass band that was founded in 2009. Since its' inception, it has performed all over the front range and has even traveled to Boston, Austin, Portland, Seattle and Columbia, MO. Gora Gora maintains a monthly co-residency at the Mercury Cafe that aims to bridge the divide of folk music and dance communities in a safe and inclusive space.

Fatty Jenkins

Fatty Jenkins moved to Fort Collins in 2002 and has since played Front Range venues and festivals with many local musicians, making friends along the way. Priding themselves on their musicanship, harmonies, and souful music, Fatty Jenkins is coming back together to play FocoMx2020. Fatty Jenkins combines reggae, rock, and world music to create an eclectic yet dancable groove.

Dance Afrik (formerly known as Falé)

Dance Afrik, a high-energy, multi-generational group, is dedicated to learning, teaching, and promoting traditional African rhythms throughout the Northern Colorado community by performing live drum and dance. It’s through the kinetic conversation between the drummers and the dancers that the rhythms come alive. Our community is sustained by a deep respect for our teachers and by studying, sharing, and celebrating the rich culture of African drum and dance together.

El Javi

North American guitarist, El Javi, defies music genres with his unbound exploration of instrumental music. The Denver based composer, producer and performer incorporates elements of flamenco, progressive rock, classical, folk and world music to shape his compositions. El Javi has been a supporting act for Ziggy Marley and today’s biggest voice of flamenco Diego El Cigala. He was a featured artist in Coors Light’s national campaign My Climb, My Music and participated in the International Guitar Festival in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

American Pika

American Pika is Greg Douras, a musician and mountaineer from Fort Collins, Colorado. American Pika performs live-looped melodic trip-hop. Blending the sound of jazz artists like Victor Wooten and Medeski, Martin, and Wood with the sounds of Tycho and Bonobo. His live show also features visuals, when the venue allows for it.
